As part of a collaboration with Toms and local brand Made In Leeds, BlackBox were asked to participate. As one of four artists, we were tasked with illustrating two pairs of classic Toms shoes and to also take part in a ‘Style Your Sole’ event illustrating on Toms live.

The BlackBox concept for the Toms customisation was centred on the brand’s existing ‘One for One’ concept adopting the use of custom ambigram typography to raise awareness of the Toms concept. The ambigram style means the type can be read both by the person wearing the shoes and anyone looking at them.
