The 2012 D&AD brief set by film magazine Little White Lies asked participants to choose one of their favourite films to illustrate their cover. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was chosen for the submission employing a ‘hidden in plain’ sight concept which embodied not only the film itself but also the main character George Smiley.

The illustration won a D&AD Student Yellow Pencil award and was hand drawn using white pencil crayon on black paper. Additional regular features of the magazine were also designed, such as an inside cover spread, film review spread and six chapter spreads.
